Feast on delectable local produce from the land to the sea, as you make your way 4,000 km across some of Australia’s most pristine wilderness. Travelling in your private group in an Executive 4WD, your guide will introduce you to the best artisanal food producers and passionate locals throughout South Australia and the south-west of Western Australia.
Harvest your own Coffin Bay oysters on the Eyre Peninsula, swim with sea lions, and stand on the ‘Edge of Australia’ at the Head of Bight. Embark on one of the world’s most iconic road journeys, travelling across the Nullarbor Plain which is guaranteed to surprise. In south-west Western Australia, swim at spectacular beaches and taste your way around the renowned Margaret River wine region. Walk among colossal forests at Valley of the Giants and engage in Indigenous culture with Koomal Dreaming.

Flights are operated by Rex and depart Adelaide at 8.15 am – arriving Port Lincoln 9.05 am.
Rex has a 15 kg luggage restriction per person plus one 7 kg carry on however, upon presenting a valid itinerary or ticket, passengers with international connections are permitted 20 kg. For more details on Rex Baggage Allowance please visit their website.
Accommodation is at a variety of hotels, resorts and apartments. Rates are based on Twin/Double Share. If you are travelling solo you need to pay the Single Traveller rate for your own room.
Private tours require a minimum of two people to operate or a Single Traveller rate applies.
Dietary requirements can be catered for but must be advised at time of booking.
The sea lions tour does not operate from June to August and an alternative itinerary will apply in the morning during these months.

Adelaide to Port Lincoln
You will be transferred from your Adelaide accommodation bright and early to catch your flight to Port Lincoln where your expert guide will greet you. After a little exploring, it’s time for your first taste of ‘Australia’s Seafood Capital’, joining a ‘Seafood Lovers’ behind-the-scenes tour of the Fresh Fish Place. This one-hour experience includes an array of fresh seafood tastings and continues with a tantalising seafood lunch.
Feeling satisfied, it’s time to relax on the eco-friendly ‘Telsa’, an electric canal cruiser. Meander through the Lincoln Cove Marina waterways with local legend Fred. He will share 40 years worth of knowledge and a few sailor’s tales too. Explore some breathtaking coastline including a scenic drive along iconic Whalers Way and pop into Mikkira Station to get up-close-and-personal with wild koalas.
After a wonderful first day, settle in for an exquisite culinary dining experience at the award-winning Line & Label Restaurant. Enjoy a 5-course degustation menu of local produce as you sip on a perfectly matched bottle of Peter Teakle Wine. Driving distance today is around 150km and you’ll spend the night at the award-winning Port Lincoln Hotel.
Mosey up the coast towards the seaside town of Coffin Bay where you’ll take off your shoes for a stroll along stunning Golden Island beach. Next, board the boat with ‘Pure Coffin Bay Oysters’ for a wonderful harvest experience. Learn to shuck and eat your own Coffin Bay oysters, understanding why they are recognised as the world’s best! Take a town tour from the boat and perhaps spot some local dolphins, before sitting down for lunch at 1802 Oyster Bar & Restaurant. Sample more fresh seafood including King George Whiting, a favourite fish of the region.
After lunch, head up the west coast of the Eyre Peninsula exploring beautiful places such as Locks Well, Talia Caves and Elliston. Come late afternoon, pull into Coodlie Park Farm Retreat where you’ll join company owners Hassie and Jo for a home-cooked meal. After dinner, head out on a Nocturnal Wildlife & Stargazing Tour giving you a chance to see the beautiful southern skies and native wildlife at its most active. Today travel approximately 280 km and tonight sleep in a 3.5 star fully self-contained cottage at Coodlie Park.
Bairds Bay & Ceduna
It’s up early today for an inspiring coastal walk around Venus Bay where you’ll often see dolphins surfing in the waves. Next, it’s time for one of the best interactive wildlife experiences in the world, swimming with wild Australian sea lions and bottlenose dolphins in sheltered Baird Bay. The puppy dogs of the sea will welcome you with great excitement and the magical dolphins won’t disappoint either. This optional extra is just $180 per person and available from September to May. If it is not operating, or you’d rather stay on dry land, we offer an alternative itinerary.
After a yummy lunch at Bay Funktion in Streaky Bay, we’ll spend time at Perlubie Beach. As you take in the pristine landscape, you’ll sample fresh oysters and local wines. Check into your 5-star Eco Villas at Shelly Beach in the seaside town of Ceduna where you’ll relax with a glass of wine and feast on a scrumptious platter of local produce. Today we travel 180 km.
Head of Bight & The Nullarbor
How you spend this morning will depend on the time of year you are travelling. From November to May, get the adrenalin pumping on a four-wheel-drive adventure through Davenport Creek dunes. If you are lucky enough to be travelling from June to October, we’ll instead travel to Fowlers Bay to board a Whale Watching & Oceanic Cruise. Witness the great spectacle of Southern Right Whales frolicking with their young in the waters of the Great Australian Bight Marine Park. You’ll also see other wildlife such as humpback whales, dolphins, sea lions, little penguins and birdlife.
After lunch, we’ll make our way towards the magnificent Head of Bight, a place that will stay in your memory forever. Next, get ready to be immersed into the outback as we begin our journey across the 1660 km Nullarbor Plain. That might sound like a long way but there are plenty of stops along the way including the unique Koonalda Homestead, a special piece of Australiana history and a photographer’s dream. We’ll travel along part of the Old Eyre Highway and exit at Border Village, just a few kilometres from Western Australia. Here you’ll spend the night in a 3.5-star Outback Roadhouse Motel. Today we travel 400 km.
The Nullarbor & Esperance
Hit the road early today to continue our way across the Nullarbor into Western Australia. Wind your clock back 1.5 hours and enjoy the changing landscapes. Enjoy a short visit to Eucla Telegraph Station ruins to stretch your legs. And have the opportunity to play a hole on the longest golf course in the world – the Nullarbor Links. Go off-road, four-wheel driving along the Balladonia Track towards Esperance, seeing some sites of historical value along the way.
Today we clock up the most distance travelled, driving 900 km. Arrive in beautiful Esperance and enjoy a fantastic meal at the Loose Goose Restaurant. Come evening you’ll be relaxing in your luxurious 5-star villa at the Esperance Chalet Village. A perfect hideaway nestled among nature.
Cape Le Grand National Park
Enjoy breakfast amongst native wildlife at your accommodation before a short drive to one of Western Australia’s most spectacular National Parks – Cape Le Grand. Words cannot describe the beauty you’ll experience today. Blindingly white sandy beaches, a turquoise ocean, footprint-free beaches and of course, meeting the iconic and friendly kangaroos of Lucky Bay. Take an inspiring walk along the coast to yet another jaw-droppingly beautiful beach – Hellfire Bay. Awaiting you here will be a gourmet BBQ feast for lunch.
From one paradise to another, jump back in the vehicle to do a 36 km scenic drive along Twilight Cove Loop. Take your pick from one of many pristine beaches to swim, before relaxing back at your hideaway at the Esperance Chalet Village. Just 80 km to travel today.
South West Coast & Albany
It’s more breathtaking scenery today as we head from Esperance into the Fitzgerald River National Park. With 1,800 species of flowering plants alone, the park is recognised as one of the most diverse botanical regions on earth! Go off-road, four-wheel driving through the park and if you are lucky enough to be travelling from August to November, you’ll witness the landscape in full bloom. Colourful wildflowers will be in abundance!
Next, travel into the oldest mountain range in the world – the Porongurups. After a picnic lunch, set off on a forest walk to Castle Rock which gives you stunning views over the whole region. Travel along some amazing coastline through Albany, stopping at Torndirrup National Park to be wowed by The Gap and Natural Bridge. Once in Albany, discover the township and its rich culture, including exploring Mount Clarence and the National Anzac Centre.
This evening you’ll enjoy fine dining with ocean views at renowned local restaurant Garrison, before checking into our 5-star boutique hotel – the Beach House at Bayside. Today we’ll travel around 550 km.
Denmark & Walpole
After breakfast, set off towards Denmark, a gorgeous town nestled on the banks of the Denmark River. Grab a coffee before heading on towards William Bay National Park to visit magical Greens Pool and Elephant Rocks. If the weather is warm, it’s the perfect place for a dip. Next head inland to discover the old-growth forests of the Walpole Wilderness region. At the iconic Valley of the Giants do the Ancient Empire and Treetop Canopy walks.
Arriving in Margaret River in the evening, you’ll settle into your accommodation at the Margaret River Beach Resort and enjoy a delicious meal at The Common Restaurant. Today travel around 400 km.
After breakfast at an iconic café overlooking the Indian Ocean, head into town where you’ll have some time to stroll along the main street. Lined with cafés, boutiques, local produce stores and galleries, you’ll see why Margaret River is so loved by locals and visitors alike. For the rest of the day, your taste buds are in for a treat as you taste your way around the region. Visit cellar doors, a chocolate factory, cheese factory and boutique brewery. But the highlight today will be a delectable lunch at the world-renowned Vasse Felix, Margaret River’s founding wine estate.
Spend the night back at the Margaret River Beach Resort where you’ll enjoy a platter laden with all of the local produce we have collected throughout the day. Today we travel within the Margaret River region, travelling just 80 km.
Margaret River to Perth
This morning you are off to have one of the best Indigenous experiences in Australia with Koomal Dreaming. Meet local custodian Josh who will introduce you to the worlds oldest living culture. Journey deep into Ngilgi Cave where you’ll be mesmerised by a live didgeridoo performance, storytelling and traditional fire-making during this fascinating 2.5 hour cultural tour.
After lunch, arrive in the popular holiday town of Busselton where it’s hard to miss the world’s second longest jetty stretching 1.8km out into stunning Geographe Bay. Catch the electric jetty train – the Stocker Preston Express, to the end of the Jetty where you’ll descend 8-metres below the surface to marvel at Australia’s greatest artificial reef. Host to a bright tropical and sub-tropical corals, sponges, fish and invertebrates, this is a great way to end your 10 day journey across the Southern Coastline of Australia.
One last stint on the road will have you arriving into Perth around 6pm where we will drop you at your pre-booked accommodation.
