  1. Day 1 Adelaide to Port Lincoln

You will be transferred from your Adelaide accommodation bright and early to catch your 8.15am flight to Port Lincoln which arrives 45 minutes later. Your expert guide will pick you up at Port Lincoln Airport and take you to drop your luggage off at the Port Lincoln Hotel where he will give you an overview of what exciting things are to come on your journey across the South Coast of Australia!

Then comes your first ‘taste’ of the Eyre Peninsula, boarding the Electric Boat Tesla Marina cruise.   This is followed by a tantalising lunch of local seafood harvest at an award-winning seafood restaurant. With a full tummy we’ll then travel to Whalers Way, the oldest rocks in South Australia that feature magnificent views of rugged and raw coastline and next it’s off to Mikkira Station, the home of the Eyre Peninsula koalas. After a day of exploring we’ll enjoy dinner at the Port Lincoln Marina.

  2. Day 2 Shark Cage Diving or Coffin Bay

Today you have two quite different experiences to choose from!

Option one is to mosey up the coast to the picture-perfect seaside town of Coffin Bay where you’ll put on some wadders, head out into the water and learn about the oyster industry on the Eyre Peninsula.  All the while feasting on the fresh pacific oysters you have collected yourself straight out of the ocean.  As we head up the west coast we’ll explore the regions National Parks and some other beautiful coastal sights such as Locks Well and Talia Caves.

Then head back to our home Coodlie Park Wilderness Retreat where you’ll join us for a camp fire feast Aussie style. After dinner, we’ll head out on a Nocturnal Wildlife & Stargazing Tour giving you a chance to see the beautiful southern skies and get up close and personal with native wildlife while it’s at its most active.

Today we travel approximately 250km and tonight you’ll sleep in a fully self-contained cottage at Coodlie Park.

    — OR —

If you are seeking some adventure on your visit to the Eyre Peninsula then you can opt to do the Optional Extra Experience and once in a lifetime experience of cage diving with Great White Sharks.  This is a full day tour and Port Lincoln is the only place in Australia you can have this extreme adrenalin experience.   There are two companies we recommend and each has a slightly differently approach.  You’ll find more information about this optional experience here.

If you do the shark cage dive, when the boat returns we’ll have a quick dinner in Port Lincoln and then make the 3-hour drive to Coodlie Park.

  3. Day 3 Bairds Bay & Ceduna

We’ll be up early today for an inspiring coastal walk around Venus Bay where we often see dolphins surfing in the waves. Next, we’ll visit the weird and wonderful rock formations of Murphy’s Haystacks before heading to Baird’s Bay where you have the once in a lifetime experience of swimming with Australian sealions and dolphins on a 3-hour cruise of the calm waters of the Eyre Peninsula.  The puppy dogs of the sea will splash, twist and and twirl all around you and the magical dolphins won’t disappoint either.

Please note this Optional Extra Experience is available from September to May and if is not operating or you’d rather stay on dry land we have any alternative itinerary.  After lunch at Streaky Bay, we spend time at our signature stop, Perlubie Beach. As we take in this inspiring and pristine landscape, we sample fresh oysters and local wines before checking into our accommodation in the seaside town of Ceduna.

Today we travel 180km and stay in the 5 Star Eco Villa’s at Shelly Beach Caravan Park.

  4. Day 4 Head of Bight & The Nullarbor

Day four begins with a great indigenous cultural experience visiting the Ceduna Aboriginal Culture Centre and then we make our way to the magnificent Head of Bight, Australia’s ultimate coastal lookout. In the months of May – September you’ll be able to see Southern Right Whales and their young taking shelter in the Great Australian Bight Marine Park.

You’ll be immersed into the real Australian outback as we embark in Australia’s most iconic road journey, crossing the 1660km Nullarbor Plain.  That might sound like a long way but there is plenty to see and do with stops at the iconic Koonalda Homestead and Eucla Telegraph Station as we travel part of the way on the ‘Old Eyre Highway’ which is an experience in itself!  You’ll even have the opportunity to play golf on the longest gold course in the world, the Nullarbor Links.

Today we clock up a few clicks travelling 480km and tonight we have the unique outback experience of staying in an iconic Outback Roadhouse Motel in Boarder Village, just a few kilometres from Western Australia.

  5. Day 5 The Nullarbor & Esperance

After breakfast, we’ll hit the road as today we have a lot of land to cover as we continue crossing the Nullarbor Plain into Western Australia.  We’ll wind our clocks back 1.5 hours and your guide will entertain you as you enjoy the changing landscapes.  We’ll go off-road, 4WD’ing along the Balladonia Track towards Esperance.   This is not your usual run-of-the-mill backroad.  One highlight will be exploring the old Deralinya Homestead.  This property was built in the 1890’s as a sheep station and abandoned in 1926.  This is a great place to realise just how resilient our pioneers were when they opened up outback Australia.

Today is the day we clock up the most kilometres driving 900km across Australia but when you see what’s waiting for you, every kilometre is worthwhile!  We’ll arrive in beautiful Esperance in the evening and overnight at the Bay of Isles Motel.

  6. Day 6 Cape Le Grand National Park

Words cannot describe the absolute beauty you are going to experience today. Located approximately 50 km East of Esperance, Cape Le Grand is one of Western Australia’s best known and most spectacular National Parks.  It features blindingly white sandy beaches, an ocean coloured all imaginable shades of blue and sand so fine it squeaks between your toes.  Wildlife is in abundance including the iconic beach sunbathing kangaroos which are usually up for a photo opportunity.

Swim, bushwalk and reconnect with nature today and tonight we’ll stay back in Esperance.

  7. Day 7 Albany & Denmark

It’s more breathtaking scenery today as we head from Esperance into the beautiful Stirling Ranges. If you are lucky to be travelling during wildflower season it will look even more picture perfect.  The white sandy beaches will turn into rugged coastlines and rock formations of Albany and then we’ll head into the old growth forests of the Valley of the Giants in Denmark.   Here we’ll explore the ancient tingle forests and if you are feeling brave you can climb the 51m Diamond Tree.

Then it’s back on the road as we make our way into one of the world’s best wine producing regions, Margaret River. Tonight we’ll enjoy dinner at the charming Margaret River Hotel.

Today we travel around 750km through spectacular scenery of the South West corner of WA and overnight for 2 nights at the Darby Park Apartments in the heart of Margaret River.

  8. Day 8 Margaret River

This morning you’ll have some time to explore the quant township with its eclectic craft and produce stores.  This will work up an appetite as today we will taste our way around Margaret River and its wine and cottage industries visiting cellar doors, a chocolate factory, cheese factory and boutique brewery in this postcard perfect region.

Margaret River is also known for its world class surf beaches and we’ll show you the best at the Margaret River mouth.  We’ll spend the night in Margaret River again feeling satisfied and warm from all the delicious produce tastings!

Today we travel within the Margaret River region travelling just 50km or so.

  9. Day 9 Margaret River to Perth

Today you’ll experience one of the best indigenous experiences in Australia at Koomal Dreaming.  We’ll journey into Ngilgi Cave where you’ll be mesmerised by a live didgeridoo performance, storytelling and traditional fire-making during this fascinating 2.5 hour tour. You’ll also take a bushwalk and learn how to identify traditional plants, foods and medicines.

As your 9-day journey draws to an end we’ll visit one last spectacular white sandy beach in Dunsborough and then head to the popular holiday town of Busselton which boasts the longest jetty in the world.  We’ll arrive into Perth around dinner time where we will drop you are your pre-booked accommodation.
