By booking a tour with us you agree to have read and accepted these Terms and Conditions.


Published dates, itineraries and prices are valid from 1st April 2019 until 31st March 2020. All prices are in Australian Dollars and include GST. All prices and conditions are subject to change without notice.


To confirm your reservation with us full payment is required at the time of booking. Reservations can be made direct by phoning 08 8687 0411 (within Australia) or +61(0) 8 8687 4011 (outside Australia). You can also book via our website www.xploreeyre.com.au or any registered travel agent.

All bookings made via Travel Agents or other booking partners may be subject to their own set of payment terms.

Please reconfirm your booking by calling us on +61 8 8687 0455 or emailing us directly at least 48 hours before your departure and this way you can also confirm your pick-up point at your starting destination.


Due to the extensive planning and costs associated with touring, the following cancellation fees will apply in the event the tour is cancelled for any reason. Cancellations must be made in writing and such notice is not effective until received by the company.

  • Cancellations 15 days and greater prior to arrival will incur a 20% cancellation fee plus any outsourced costs that AWA have already confirmed, must also be paid. This is including but not limited to accommodation, flights, activities and optional extras.
  • Cancellations between 14 and 8 days before arrival incur a 50% cancellation fee plus any outsourced costs that AWA have already confirmed, must also be paid. This is including but not limited to accommodation, flights, activities and optional extras.
  • Cancellations within 7 days of arrival or no-show bookings incur a 100% cancellation fee.


At times we may have to cancel a tour or service. In the event we do have to cancel, every effort will be made to offer a suitable alternative. Our tours require a minimum of two people to operate and in the unlikely event that we only have one person confirmed we have some other options available.

Firstly, a Single Traveller fee is offered to run the tour with only one person. Secondly, we reserve the right to cancel the tour and arrange an alternative operator (if possible). If the alternative is not suitable, we will refund your tour price in full.

In circumstances where the cancellation is due to external factors beyond our control, any potential refund will be less any unrecoverable cost which we may have incurred.


Due to the complexity, staff time and communication costs of the booking process, the following amendment charges will apply:

One change of departure date is allowed with no fee.

Changes made within 7 days of the scheduled departure – will incur full cancellation fees and passengers will be required to pay the full cost of any new tour which is booked.


AWA reserves the right to amend tour times, itineraries, and fares for its products as circumstances, time of year and operational reasons occur. There will be no refunds in these circumstances nor for delays incurred due to mechanical failure, accident, weather or any other unforeseen circumstances. We cannot guarantee exact pick-up and drop-off times and will accept no responsibility in the event of cancellation fees from other connecting services. No compensation will be considered for any additional driving or time lost due to such changes.


Australia has many dangerous creatures, extreme weather conditions and often varying terrain. Safety is our number one priority and all of our guides are highly trained to ensure passenger safety at all times. All passengers participating on our tours do so at their own risk and no responsibility can be accepted by AWA for any loss, injury or accident. Passengers are responsible for any additional costs involved should such instances occur. All passengers will be required to sign a liability waiver prior to departure.


All passengers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult or caregiver at all times. While all care is taken, the responsibility of children on tour rests entirely with the parent or caregiver. All passengers, including children, must wear shoes at all times, use sunblock and wear hats. Please note that we accept children of all ages travelling on our group and private charter tours. Passengers 12 years and under at the time of departure are considered to be children and are charged at 80% of the adult rate.


We contract with a network of companies and individuals to assist in operating our tours.

AWA works with the best operators available but takes no responsibility for any act of neglect by any operator whose services are used as part of your tour. Our suppliers make every effort to safeguard clients, and we cannot be held responsible for personal injury or sickness to any customer which is beyond our control. We can also reserve the right to refuse to carry or continue to carry any passengers, luggage or goods.

While we always endeavour to provide you with the best possible holiday experience, due to the nature of travel and the areas we visit sometimes things can and do go wrong. Should any issue occur while you are on your trip, it is imperative that you discuss this with your guide straight away so that they can do their best to rectify the problem and save any potential negative impact on the rest of your trip.

We recognise that there may be times when your guide may not be able to resolve a situation to your satisfaction – if this is the case, please ask them to put you in touch with Operations Manager and/or Business owner.

Please note that our tours operate in remote regions and as such medical facilities may be difficult to access. If you have any medical conditions or take any form of medication please provide full details and nature of the condition. Please provide details of the medication taken. If over 70 years we will require a Doctors Certificate.

We carry a satellite phone on all of our remote/overland trips to be used by our guide in the event of an emergency and for your safety. In addition, all of our guides are First Aid trained and certified.

We highly recommend Travel Insurance and recommend it covers cancellation, curtailment, personal liability and loss of luggage and personal effects.


If you consent to us using images of you taken during the trip for advertising and other promotional purposes in any medium as we require, you agree that the use of these images is without recourse to you and without compensation to you. If you would prefer not to be photographed, or prefer photos of you not be used in this way, please let us know –– we respect your privacy.
